The Biscuit Aisle

Woke up this morning full of good intentions... I knew exactly what I was going to eat.. so virtuous, I felt thinner already!

I got the sugar kids ready for school had a fat free yogurt...congratulated myself for being fabulously good, wrote a little shopping list for a healthy grilled chicken kebab dinner with rice and salad, and set off for school runs and the shops.

Sugar kids dropped off, been to the green grocer, pram groaning with healthy fruit and veg. All that's left is the co-op, it's going well.

Then i make a rookie mistake, without thinking i turn down the biscuit aisle. One of the packets catches my eye and keeps whispering sweet nothings to me as i pass.....

I am weak and it goes into the basket. I am now walking round thinking "oh god I shouldn't have done that, what am I doing?".

I end up in the queue, thinking I really should put these back...

Then it's too late, I'm at the front and too embarrassed to walk off with the rest of the people tutting at my back, From that moment the pack of biscuits is doomed.
I try to put them in the cupboard for later, then I try to maybe just have one of them, finally I give in and the whole packet gets dunked and devoured.

ah well... maybe i'll manage to be healthy tomorrow!

Reality Check.....

Wednesday 9th November 2011

I don't know why i have started this. Maybe for some kind of accountability, maybe to try and show people that they are not alone, or maybe just because i can feel the evil beast "diabetes" peeking over the horizon, watching my every move & preparing to strike with unerring accuracy one tired, dreary, Thursday.

Well, Today is Wednesday and Wednesdays are always a hard day for me, because Hubby is out all day and overnight......

So far today i have eaten 1 whole box of crave chocolate breakfast cereal (with semi-skimmed milk), 1 s'more (made with 2 Hob-Nobs, 3 giant chocolate buttons and a pink marshmallow) and one large mug of de-caff coffee.

Oh and don't forget the whole lying to my husband and telling him i had one slice of toast and an apple for breakfast thing...

What is wrong with me.... I mean really it's like some freaky addiction. I deny all knowledge of the consequences. People keep telling you to live in the now, but sometimes it's only the thought of the impending soul crushing guilt that keeps me in check...and sometimes not even that works!

Why can't i link the food that disappears into my gaping maw  of a mouth with the eternal seeming expansion of my immense cellulite ridden, saggy, backside!

Reality check in aisle 3 please!!!!
